Technical Support

Hy-Vee Arena is currently looking for an energetic and self-motivated employee and to fill a full-time help desk and IT support tech role.  We are a unique facility which hosts events with an emphasis on sports, has a membership base and is home to dozens of local companies.

Position Overview

The Technical Support role is responsible for providing fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems.  In this role, you will answer inquiries regarding technical issues and offer solutions to customers.

An excellent Help Desk Technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
  • Provide accurate information to the best of your ability on IT related products or services
  • Perform WIFI access point and login troubleshooting
  • Work with Triple Play on video system maintenance

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience with Copper and Fiber infrastructure
  • Knowledge of basic network administration
  • Knowledge of audio and video cabling
  • Self-starter with exceptional time management
  • Associates-level technology degree
  • At least 1-year experience in a tech support or integration environment

Job Type:  Full-time

Salary:  $17-$24 Depending on Experience

Marketing Internship

Hy-Vee Arena is currently looking for an energetic and self-motivated intern interested in pursuing a career in marketing, graphic design, or sports. We are a unique facility which hosts events with an emphasis on sports and wellness, has a membership base and is home to dozens of local companies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in coordinating materials with event sponsors and partners to ensure partnership requirements are met
  • Evaluate and assist ongoing development and tracking of Internet marketing campaigns and event logistics
  • Create promotional email, social media content, graphics and other online announcements
  • Perform research to assist in the identification of marketing opportunities
  • Execute grassroots marketing promotions throughout the Kansas City area at community events, festivals, parades, concerts
  • Provide support to marketing team at events including live social media coverage
  • Write press releases and story pitches for variety of media outlets (broadcast, print, online)
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Business, Communications or another related field required. Must provide proof to receive credit through the internship toward the completion of a degree.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Strong organizational, communications, interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting or individually.
  • Attentive to detail, with outstanding written communication and grammar skills
  • Familiarity with social media marketing and e-mail marketing platforms/strategy preferred
  • Must have personal computer and access to the Internet.
  • Experience with graphic design and marketing a plus, but not necessary.
  • Excellent work ethic, available to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings based on business need.

Guest Services

Do you enjoy sports and have outstanding customer service skills? Then we want to talk to you!  Hy-Vee Arena is currently looking to fill full-time and part-time entry-level guest service

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Cordially greet internal and external customers and clients
  • Communicate to customers and clients, listen to their needs, present ideas and solutions to their requirements
  • Calmly address comments and complaints in person, by phone and/or email
  • Maintain composure under stressful, crisis and high-pressure situations
  • Accept/reconcile payments for facility usage
  • Assign courts, communicate usage to facility staff and accept payments
  • Enter guests information into our tracking system for marketing purposes
  • Work independently and as a team
  • Able to work a schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Able to push, pull, bend, lift to 25 lbs., and be mobile as needed
  • Keep entry to Arena clean and free of debris
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the use of tablets
  • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in a professional manner
  • Experience in sports as an athlete is preferred, but not required

Salary:  $10-12 / hour
